About Me

New Jersey native, Areana "Moon" Whittaker has called Idaho her home for over a decade. Born to two incredibly talented artists, she has been studying and creating art since she was a child. Moon credits her parents for inspiring her artistic endeavors and has spent her life developing her own style. Themes rooted in religion, motherhood, the natural world are expressed in her works that encompass a range of mediums.

 

In 2021, Moon became a classically trained Art educator, which proved to have a significant impact to her relationship with art. The opportunity to nurture the instinct children have to explore and create fueled her passion for making classical drawing and painting skills accessible to all.

Wife and busy mother of two, Moon enjoys furthering her own art education, exploring new mediums, and teaching young artists. She has developed a particular fascination with Christian iconography and hopes to continue to contribute to the tradition.
